Illus. with 6 color plates by Oliver Messel. Jacket. First Edition. London: Sidgwick & Jackson, [1957].
A strange and charming book of simple recipes for traditional dishes such as mussels St. Briac, haddock white's club, cold crab meat souffle, rich strawberry shortcake, partridge a la creme, veal Andalusia, etc. Jacket well chipped at spine end areas, with some irregular fading to extremities, else very good, with wonderful illustrations and of course, an uncommon foreword by the great Noel Coward, who begins with an assault on rock-and-roll and the H-Bomb.
